Drip content based on pricing option

While dripping content is available in the standard version of Learn, the steps detailed in the below guide require advanced sequence functionality in Learn+

With ThriveCart Learn+ drip content, you have the flexibility to design engaging learning experiences that match your pricing strategy. Whether you offer a subscription or a one time payment, you can easily tailor how students access your course.

Use course access by pricing option to reward paid-in-full customers with instant access to all lessons, while drip-feeding content to subscription or payment plan users over time, or even based on their recurring payments (rebills) processing. This approach not only enhances perceived value but also encourages higher conversions, giving you full control over how and when your students experience your content.

In the video walkthrough below, we take a look at such a scenario, but we’ll detail the steps below as well.

How to drip content to subscription-based users, but grant full access to pay-in-full customers:

  1. Set your overall course to the drip settings that you’re looking for via the “Dripped” button at the top right (seen at 0:41). Choose either based on a timeline, or set it to drip based on successful subscription payments (i.e. rebill 1, rebill 2).
  2. Drip settings for each module can be customized as well, in case your course has more or less modules than subscription rebills (seen at 01:31).
  3. Create an advanced sequence (seen at 03:04) that triggers based on the “Has a tag” rule.
  4. Set the action in that sequence to “unlock all content”.
  5. In your product settings, under the Fulfillment tab, make sure to set membership to be granted differently for each pricing option (seen at 05:24). Set the same course for both pricing options, but you can then add your desired tag on only the pay in full pricing option.

This is just one example of how you can utilize ThriveCart Learn+ drip content settings to easily deliver content to your students. Advanced Sequences within Learn+ can be utilized for a number of other rules and functionality for advanced student course access management. If you’re looking for specific scenarios for granting or gating course access, you’ll likely find the answer there.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Q: Does this feature work with payment plans as well as subscriptions?
    • A: Absolutely. You can apply drip schedules to both recurring subscriptions and split-pay payment plans.
  • Q: Does this work to release content after a subscription trial?
    • A: It does! If you have a subscription or one-time payment with a trial, you can drip content only after the trial ends. This overall drip setting will unlock all course content once the trial ends, but using this tags + advanced sequence method will ensure all content is immediately available to students who paid upfront in full.
