You can choose exactly how often you receive email notifications about your sales and affiliate activity – or turn them off entirely if you prefer. This is available to both merchants and affiliates, with support for individual emails or daily, weekly, and monthly digest emails.
What this feature does
By default, ThriveCart sends an email every time:
- A sale is made
- A commission is earned or paid
For high-volume funnels this can lead to a lot of email noise. With the new Email notifications settings you can:
- Turn all notifications on or off
- Choose which notification types you want (sales, commissions, or both)
- Decide whether you want instant emails or digest summaries (daily, weekly, or monthly)
- Pick the day and time for your digest emails
If nothing happens in the selected period (no sales/commissions), no digest email will be sent.
Where to find your email notification settings
For merchants
- Log in to your ThriveCart merchant dashboard.
- Go to Settings.
- Click Email notifications.
For affiliates
- Log in to your Affiliate dashboard.
- Go to the new Settings area.
- Click Email notifications.
Merchants and affiliates each have their own notification settings. Changing your merchant settings does not affect your affiliate notifications (and vice versa).
Email notifications page overview
On the Email notifications page you’ll see:
- Header: “Email notifications”
- Subheader: “Customise how you would like to receive email notifications about updates on sales, commission payments, etc.”
The page is organised into three main sections.
1. Turning email notifications on or off
How it works
- Enabled
- All notification controls are active.
- You can choose notification types and delivery method.
- Disabled
- All other controls (notification types, delivery methods, digests) become greyed out and can’t be changed.
- Your previous selections are remembered in the background.
- If you switch back to Enabled later, your old choices for types and digests will return.
Tip: Use this if you want to temporarily pause all emails without losing your settings.
2. Choosing which notifications you receive
Notification types:
- Sales notifications (when a sale occurs)
- Commission notifications (when commission is earned/paid)
You can:
- Check Sales notifications to receive emails or digest entries for new sales.
- Check Commission notifications to receive emails or digest entries for affiliate commissions.
If you select both, your email (individual or digest) will include both sales and commission data.
3. Choosing how often you receive emails
Delivery methods:
For each enabled notification type, you can pick one of these options (radio buttons):
- Individual emails – whenever an event occurs

What’s included in digest emails
The actual content of digest emails differs slightly for merchants and affiliates.
Merchants – daily/weekly/monthly digest
Merchant digests include:
- Total Sales
- Revenue
- Commission Paid
Sales breakdown by product:
- Product
- Sales
- Revenue
- Commissions
This gives you a high-level view of how your products performed and how much commission was paid out over the chosen period.
Your account may also show a visual breakdown (e.g., charts or tables) based on the design used in your dashboard/email template.
Affiliates – daily/weekly/monthly digest
Affiliate digests include:
- Referral sales
- Commission earned
- Sales generated
Commission breakdown:
- Product
- Merchant
- Sale amount
- Commission
This helps you quickly see how your affiliate promotions performed and where your commissions are coming from.
How merchant vs. affiliate settings interact
- Merchant settings apply only to notifications related to your own products and sales.
- Affiliate settings apply only to notifications related to your affiliate promotions.
- There is no conflict between them; each profile controls its own inbox behaviour.
You can, for example:
- Use daily digests for your merchant activity, and
- Keep individual emails for your affiliate commissions.
Saving or discarding your changes
At the bottom of the Email notifications page you’ll see two buttons:
- Save and exit
- Saves your email notification preferences.
- Applies your changes immediately.
- Returns you to the main Settings page.
- Back
- Returns you to the previous page without saving any changes you’ve made on the Email notifications screen.
- Your previous settings remain in place.
Make sure to click Save and exit if you want your new preferences to take effect.
Existing recurring payment failure setting (label update)
In your profile/settings area, the existing notification-related option has been updated to be clearer:
“Email me when recurring payments fail”
This setting specifically controls whether you receive emails about failed recurring payments. It works alongside the new Email notifications controls described above and does not affect your sales/commission digest preferences.
